Reconfiguring your WordPress sidebar is easy with widgets: Just drag and drop widgets into the desired place on the sidebar of your blog, update and your done! But what if you want to use a php command line in one of your widgets? If you want to do that, you’ll find out that you can’t do that! However, there is a solution to that “problem” and it’s called Samsarin PHP Widget.
The Samsarin PHP Widget can be used like the default text widget in WordPress but it allows adding php command lines by enclosing PHP codes.
I’m using the Samsarin PHP Widget for the search widget in my sidebar. The default search widget doesn’t work for me: it doesn’t show it properly (when I enable it, it “floats” right in the middle of my sidebar while I’ve put them on the left side of the sidebar!) and it doesn’t allow me to customize the search button. So this is when I start using Samsarin PHP Widget.
The installation of the plug-in is easy: Download, extract and upload to your plug-in folder, go to your admin console, go to Pluggins, and Enable the Samsarin PHP Widget.
When you have enable the plug-in, go to your theme editor, Widgets and select the number of php widgets you want to use. By default 1 will be available. When you’ve set the numbers of php widget you drag one the widgets to your sidebar and edit its title and body and you’re good to go!

Hell yeah! I’M GRADUATED! Today at 13 o’clock I had my evaluation of my master exam!
My master exam consists of an assignment which I had to make in the internship company. My assignment was planning and producing a demonstration video for a online free tool called AgendaChecker. This tool is an online agenda meant for artists & bands. The demonstration video is meant to make thing a bit easier to understand for artists & bands. Anyway, after spending a lot of time on researching, testing and some other stuff the demonstration video is ready to be used and can be found here.

Off course this isn’t the one and only thing which I’ve done at my internship company! I’ve done a lot of other things such as designing advertisements, creating a new logo, made some banners, made some new lay-out for some web pages, made some site headers and off course testing and improving the online service.
Anyway like I said here above I had my evaluation today. My boss had to fill in some competence forms with all “G’s” (stands for Good! Duuh!) and those had to be checked by a mentor from school. So after telling my mentor what I had done, how I had done it and some other nonsense he told me that I was graduated!
So I’m very happy about this!! All that’s left is just 10 more days to work at the internship company, a small presentation to my class mates and then on July 1st I’ll get a paper which is better known as “Diploma!” Did I mentioned that I was happy about this?!
I’m planning to have a big party!

Having an archives page for your WordPress blog is something very important. In an archive page you can archive links listing by categories, months, year and pages.
Most free WordPress themes already have an extra page template for an archive page. Just look in your theme’s folder for an php file called archives.php. This is different then your default archive template which is called archive.php (without the “s”).

But if you have a theme which doesn’t have an archive page, you can make one your own very easy when you follow this steps. I take my own archive page as an example.

1. Make a copy of your index.php and call it archives.php. This is just to preserve your theme structure!
2. Open the file and type this at the top of the Archives.php
3. Now remove the original loop code in the index.php.
4. Add the category listing by inserting this code:<h2>Archives by Categorie:</h2>
<ul><?php list_cats(0, '', 'name', 'ASC', '/', true, 0, 1); ?></ul>
5. Add the month listing by inserting this code:<h2>Archives by Month:</h2>
<ul><?php wp_get_archives('type=monthly'); ?></ul>
6. Add the page listing by inserting this code:<h2>Archives by Pages:</h2>
<ul><?php wp_list_pages('title_li'); ?></ul>
7. Save the archives.php file, upload it to your theme’s folder (wp-content/themes/themename/).
8. To use your archives page you have to create a new page and select your newly upload Archives page template for that page!

I love the sunny days.. Just like today’s weather! Today Jannie and me decided to drive around on our scooter and enjoy the sun… You see the thing is that the sun doesn’t shine that often in Holland and when it does you have to take advantage of it!
After buying some stuff for our house and grocery shopping we decided to drive to Postel, Belgium. Fortuantly Belgium isn’t that far from Eindhoven and it only takes you something like 45 minutes (with scooter!) to get there! In case you didn’t know, I live in Holland and Holland it’s a pretty small country. It’s so small that you can go anywhere with the train or just with the scooter! For example: It takes something about 1.30 hour to get in Amsterdam by train!
So anyway, we drove to Postel, but somewhere on our route, I didn’t pay attention and drove into the wrong direction! Ok, We weren’t lost cause I knew exactly where we were but we had to make a HUGE detour to get to Postel. So a tour of 45 minutes became a tour of almost 2 hours!
Ok.. It wasn’t that bad cause the weather was just beautiful but then again, it was a bit silly of me cause Jannie had warned me about that already!!

So finally we arrived in Postel and as we were hungry we got ourself some nice Belgium fries with Belgium Mayonnaise (that’s very very delicious!!).

Yes, A very big ice cream for Jannie.. Me? I don’t do ice creams!

So after a while we decided to go back home and this time I followed the right route! Anyway, even with the HUGE detour we loved the day and look forward to have more of those!

Until last year I never wanted to have a pet but Jannie, which always had pets in her life, wanted to have a cat. So after a while she convinced me to buy a kitten. In the beginning I was afraid that the kitten would destroy everything such as our furniture! But it never happened!
These days I love Gizmo! It’s a very funny and sweet cat! He can do a lot of crazy things! He can “speak” to you (he always says Hello!), he likes to play with a ball made of aluminium foil and much more… But he’s also very lazy and like most of the cats he likes to sleep a lot. So yesterday when I entred the room I saw him sleeping with his cuddle and that looked pretty sweet!

Sometimes he likes to get a lot of attention and he acts like a “photo model”.. Like the picture below…

So here I’m a person who didn’t wanted to have any pets in the house and now I can’t wait to get a puppy!

Since some days I noticed that when there are multiple posts published on the SAME DAY, the date only displays the date for the first post! I didn’t like this and soon I became aware that I was using this code inside my WordPress loop: <?php the_date('','',''); ?>

I wanted to display the date for all of my posts, even when they are published on the same day! If you don’t like this like me, you can change this by replacing the date tag with: <?php the_time('l F j Y'); ?>

This way every post will be displaying the date, exactly what I wanted!

I’ve taken a couple of free days off work and I’m intend to relax a bit but also do something around the house which I hadn’t had any chance to do before!
Today is just one of those days and we wanted to clean up our garden. Our garden wasn’t a garden anymore, but a forest! The weeds were growing every where and we just had to do something about that!
So after a time spending on the garden; cutting the grass, pulling the weeds out and cleaning the garden it looks very neat and like this:

All that’s left is our front garden, but we’ll do that Thursday! Right now I’m going to make my self ready in order to going out to diner with Jannie!
