Windows files fragmentation. The problem…Even in the modern age of fast and inexpensive hardware configurations, Windows performance is still dependent on its file administration processes.
File fragmentation is still the most common problem. Over time, files keep into disk will splitting up into small pieces due to repeated modification and saving. They are then scattered over the entire hard disk. Retrieving these files entails far more time than necessary with fragmented files, as each individual piece has to be found and read.
