I’m not going to tell you anything about Greece and it’s history, you can find enough information on the Wiki site. BUT I’ll tell you everything about our holiday in Kos.

The flight
As I wrote in my last post we left from Eindhoven to Kos. A trip that takes more than 3 hours. We flew with Transavia and it was almost a perfect flight. Yeah almost perfect cause me and Jannie couldn’t sit next each other! Stupid huh? That’s what we thought too! Anyway.. During the flight to Kos you could watch Music & Lyrics and Wild Hogs when returning to Eindhoven. (Yeaah.. The reviews will be online soon!) On the flight back home it was possible for us to sit next to each other so that was very good!
You could buy anything in the plane, such as sandwiches, drinks etc so no worries here.

The moment we arrived at our hotel.. Exhausted and hungry!

Hotel: The Blue Lagoon
Damn! I had seen some photo’s of it.. But I thought they had Photoshoped them… But NO! The hotel was even prettier that I imagined!
The arrival at the hotel was excellent, we were welcomed with some champagne! After filling a form we got the key to our room and someone of the hotel brought us to our room. Our room, facing to the sea, was just great and complete with refrigerator and a bath!
Beside the fact that the hotel was just 1 minute away from the sea, it had also a big swimming pool and more than enough sun beds & parasols which were free to use off course!

Our hotel at night!

The Pool
Our hotel had a very big swimming pool… We spend a lot of time swimming there. The water was clean and about 22 degrees. So when the weather was around 30 degrees it was the perfect temperature to swim.. Each morning after our breakfast we went to the pool and searched for a nice spot and got our selfs two sun beds were we could lie all day long!

The swimming pool. It’s actually bigger, cause it runs under the bridge where I took this picture!

The foods & Drinks
We had booked this trip all inclusive. Everybody told us that we were stupid because the hotel foods are usually bad. So we were a bit curious about the food. When we arrived Thursday we were too late for the diner at the hotel so we had to wait till the next day to see if the hotels food is good or not.

Anyway we were hungry and decided to go to Kos City and have some diner over there. After searching for a nice spot we found a place and had this delicious Greek plate in a restaurant called Prima. The food, the service and the price (22 € for the two of us with our drinks included) was just great.
But not all the food you get in restaurant was great.. For example we had eaten at Filarakia and at some Fish House which I can’t remember the name of it and the food was just bad!
At Filarakia they had our favourite starter: Carpaccio.. But it was disgusting as hell!! Damn we never had such a bad carpaccio and that’s why we decided to move on…
And the food at the Fish house was also too disgusting! I had ordered a Mixed Fish Plate and I didn’t like one of the fish included in the plate! But Jannie liked what she had ordered very much!

So back to hotel food. It was just great! They had more than 30 buffets filled with.. Well.. Actually anything! From butter to English breakfast in the morning, From salads to pizza’s during the lunch and from salads to hot plates (each nigh they had this theme for food, for example on Tuesday it was sushi night). So the food was great!

The drinks… You could order anything for free as long as it wasn’t a brand. So you could order a whiskey coke and you got a local brand whiskey and coke. This was the same with beer, coke and everything else…

The weather
The second in Kos we had a weird weather.. The sun didn’t knew what to do..shine or hide behind the clouds.. But it wasn’t that bad that we couldn’t swim or do anything else, it was around 23/24 degrees and that gave us enough warmth too do things.

The rest of our holiday including the first day were just great! Between 28 and 31 degrees and NO clouds! So a perfect weather!

Lodis: Waterpark
20 minutes away of the Blue Lagoon Hotel there was a (small) water park called Lodis. They had this Lazy River water track which you could go into. It was pretty fun to go to this water park. You had a Turbo Toll and some other (high) water glides.
If you want to go to Kos, you have got to see and check it out. BUT I have got to give a tip, when you book your trip to Lodis don’t buy your tickets with any tour organization, but buy the tickets on your own. So you don’t have to wait for the bus all day long! Instead rent a car, scooter, a bike or a quad to get there and pay the entrance by your self. Why am I telling you this? Well if you buy your tickets by your tour organization they’ll drop you off at the park and will pick you up about 6 hours later and that’s just too much for Lodis. Just the half of that time is enough to enjoy every ride, the sun, the food and even managed to get bored!
So we did catch some sleep when we were there!

Kos: The bicycle Island
Our tour organization told us that Kos is a bicycle island and that we could rent bikes over there. So we followed that advice and rented a bike for 2 days. We went to see the island and it was pretty cool. You should do the same when you’re in Kos.

If you wanted you could also rent a scooter, a buggy, a quad or a car. So you’ll have plenty of choices.

Hospitality
The Greeks are very friendly and hospitable. Not only the hotel personal but like in the city when your passing by. I think that Holland can learn something from them!

The Sea
The sea was beautiful! You had two kind of beaches in Kos.. One part was shingle beach and the other part was just sand. I liked swimming in the sea, but I like to swim in the swimming pool even more!

Me swimming in the sea!

The Town
City of Kos is just an old town. They actually have two “major” shopping streets. The one is very modern with regular opening hours such as 1000 - 1200 and them from 15 till 1800 and the other one, lets say it the old one, its open from 1000 till 2400. This shopping street is actually for the tourists. You can buy everything in this street; from caps of different brands to handmade Greek stuff.
Every where in the town there are restaurants were you can eat. The only thing I didn’t like is when your passing by a restaurant the people who work in the restaurant would do almost anything to get you in there restaurant. That’s the same when your entering a shop.

Some street with a lot of restaurants where you can eat some delicious food!

Conclusion
We have booked the perfect holiday! We had a lot of demands for our holiday and we got them all! It was a great holiday and we have enjoyed it a lot! If you ask me to give it a score.. I’ll give it a…
