Stop A Restart Process In 3 Steps

Posted By: Monday 12 November 2007 No Comments Yet

You know it, your busy working at your computer, let’s say your making homework, and on the background your installing some application which will need a reboot as soon as it’s installed! Sometimes, Windows XP gives an auto restart warning but sometimes it doesn’t, so in that case you can do something to stop the restart process quickly to save anything you were working on!

  1. Go to Start menu
  2. Click on RUN
  3. Enter the following command excluding hashcodes “shutdown -a

And that’s it!! I used it when my computer was infected by the W32.Blaster.Worm virus some years ago! That’s how I could prevent my computer rebooting itself after 60 seconds and had the chance to fix the problem!!
