Did you know that you can change the name of the registered owner in XP in some very easy steps? How? By using the registry!

  1. Click Start
  2. Go to Run
  3. Type regedit to open the registry editor.
  4. Browse to the following key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

  5. In the right details pane, double click the value RegisteredOwner.
  6. In the value data field, type in the name you want to use and click OK.
  7. You can change the company name, if any, in the same way by editing the value RegisteredOrganization.
