Yesterday me and Jannie went to Rotterdam, the second biggest city in Holland. We wanted to go and have a fun and relax day and meanwhile doing a little bit of shopping. So we took the train of 12 o’clock with our destination: Rotterdam. The “journey” to Rotterdam took about an hour. When we arrived in Rotterdam, it was raining real hard and guess what we had forgotten?! Yes, an umbrella!
So one of the first thing we bought was an umbrella!
Some time ago we were also in Rotterdam but didn’t had that much time to explore the city. Jannie loves Rotterdam, but I don’t. I prefer our home town: Eindhoven! Anyway, we spend our time on shopping, having a lunch and we were able to find a lot of things which we wanted to buy and then we decided to go back home around 18 o’clock.
When we arrived at the Rotterdam Central Station we noticed that NS (Dutch Railways) were having some problems with the signals in a city near Rotterdam, so there weren’t any trains going that way, or from there to Rotterdam. And guess what, our train to Eindhoven had to pass that city, so bad news for us! So with this and the rush hour the station was crowded as hell, everyone wanted to go home and they all were running like crazy! It was a bit chaos! (If you don’t live in Holland, then you must realize that this isn’t is the first time that something like this happens! This things happen very often, but NS wouldn’t do anything about it to fix this kind of problems for ever!!) Anyway, our train back to Eindhoven should leave on 18:17 but we actually left Rotterdam 18:50 or so! Anyway when we arrived in Eindhoven, we decided to go and go to a restaurant and have a diner, but that didn’t worked as we planed! The restaurant which we had in mind, and a lot of other restaurant hadn’t a table for 2 free! But after a little search tour through the city, we found a free table in this restaurant called “Le Connaisseur” and had this delicious meal, with off course Carpaccio as starter!
After our meal we went home, and went straight to bed.. cause damn, we we’re so tired! But we did have a very nice day, even with the bad weather, the troubles and delays at the central station and not eating at the restaurant which we had in mind! ![]()

I’ve never been in Rotterdam. Some of my relatives lived there, or maybe still live there, I don’t know
I’m glad you had a great day - sounds like fun for the most part
(Regarding Project wonderful: I was going to place a bid, but that thing tells me I have to have Java script enabled to post a time limit, I do have it enabled, still can’t place a bid
)
Edit: I figured it out, was stupid me, now I just need you to approve the ad
It sounds like a neat trip! Do you use the train to travel a lot in your country then? It sounds like a popular way to go. It’s not as widely used where I live. I think I’ve only been on a train once, ever!

Yes, train is a popular way to travel in Holland. You see Holland is a very small country and when you want to go from Eindhoven (where I live) to Amsterdam it only takes about one and a half hour! And a lot of people use train to get to work, so taking the train is very common here…
On the Wikipedia site you can find more information about Holland. Ow, and if you scroll down in that page, you see a map. On the map you can see where Eindhoven and Amsterdam lies…
