BioTecKAll the products in Microsoft Office 2007 have new file types and extensions based on the new XML file formats in the 2007 Microsoft Office system. The new file name extensions are based on the previous extensions, with the addition of a character to differentiate between macro-enabled and macro-free files. For example, a .docx extension indicates a macro-free file, and a .docm extension indicates a macro-enabled file. The new Office extensions are somewhat of a pain when co-workers don’t use Office 2007.
I’m the only one at my work that has Office 2007… I still, personally, don’t like it as much as Office 2003. I’ve had to change my Office 2007 options to save as old Office files. Or else, everyone at work would have a fit with me, unable to open anything I did!

2 Aywren: Yes, Office 2007 is a pain in the ass! That’s why I still use Office 2003. Cause anyone at work and school still works with Office 2003.
2 Ben: You can give it a try, cause you can use Microsoft’s Office Compatibility Pack.. But… I recommend to use Office 2003!
I’ll stick with Office 2003 for the time being.
