Re-initialize Registry Without Reboot Windows

Posted By: Friday 1 February 2008 No Comments Yet

In a lot of my previous posts you can find a lot of registry “hacks”. Every time you change something in the Windows registry you have to reboot to re-initialize the new registry settings! But I found a tip from IT Tech Talk, which let’s you reinitialize the registry without reboot the computer!

  1. Open task manager by CTRL+SHIFT+ESC
  2. Locate explorer.exe
  3. Kill this process
  4. Now go to task manager, click on File–>New Task
  5. Type ‘explorer‘ to start new instance of windows explorer.

And that’s it!
