How To Block Websites Without Any Software

Do you want to block some websites without paying a lot of money for some software? If the answer is yes, then just follow the steps and you’ll see that you can block websites on your own!

1. Browse C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
2. Find the file named “HOSTS“
3. Open it in notepad. (You’ll see the text below)
   

   # Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
   #
   # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
   #
   # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
   # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
   # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
   # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
   # space.
   #
   # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
   # lines or following the machine name denoted by a ‘#’ symbol.
   #
   # For example:
   #
   # 102.54.94.97 – rhino.acme.com – # bronserver
   # 38.25.63.10 – x.acme.com – # x clienthost

   127.0.0.1 localhost

4. Under “127.0.0.1 localhost” Add 127.0.0.1 www.sitenameyouwantblocked.com.
   For example:
   127.0.0.1 localhost
   127.0.0.1 www.blockedsite.com.
5. Save the file and open your web browser and type the website adres which you just entred and you’ll see that the website is unaccessible!

That’s easy hu? And that without spending any money!
