Faster! Faster!

Yesterday it was Friday and like every other Friday I had to work at Eindhoven Airport. However unlike the other Friday’s I had a so called “bus shift”. Currently the parking lot of Eindhoven Airport and the main entrance for the cars is under construction and that’s why someone like me has to guide the people and cars to the right parking space and make sure that they don’t stop in the middle of the street.
So I was doing my job (doing nothing but move the pawns when a bus or taxi with licences came by and guide the people to the right parking space) when a lady who was just arrived began to talk to me.
She said: “God damn, it’s a mess here! Where can my daughter park the car, she’s supposed to pick me up!”
I said: “I know, but it’s temporary soon it’s all over. But your daughter can park over there.”
She: “God damn, it’s really a mess here. By the way I want to draw a complain! Your colleagues don’t work hard enough!”
I was surprised and asked her: “Why!? What happened!?”
She: “I’m just back from my vacation in Malaga (Spain) and I had to wait ages to get my luggage! The trip from Malaga to Eindhoven was even shorter!”
By saying that she really pissed me off, but I tried to be polite, so I said to her: “Lady, I don’t think that my colleagues are lazy, we work as hard as we can!”
She: “Young men, you listen to me. I saw your colleagues standing in the front of the air plane with there hands in there pockets watching us. Beside that we had to wait for a couple of people in wheelchairs!”
This really pissed me off, and again I tried to be as polite as possible: “Excuse me, what do you expect? First everybody has to get out the air plane. After that it’s time for people with wheel chairs and most of the times the wheelchairs are in the cargo so we have to wait for that too! By the way, there are more luggage’s! Not only yours! So what do you expect?! We follow a standard procedure. If you have any other suggestion or methods then please do tell me! You have your luggage now and believe me if it could be done faster then we probably would have tried that!”
When I said this she looked at me and said: “I guess your right. Excuse me, I think I’m just tired!”
Damn, this makes me sick! All those people nagging about small things. Why don’t they chill out and relax!? I mean she was just back from her holiday!
So have you ever had to wait a long time for your luggage!? Personally, I don’t care how long it takes: Either I’m going on vacation or I’m coming back home. Personally I’m not in a rush, are you??

Yepp, I sometimes have to wait and I only get nervous when almost everyone else is gone and I get to think they’ve lost mine. Or when I know that my poor dogs are still waiting somewhere in cargo after being in that damned Kennel for over ten hours.
But I know that that’s just the way it is. I did nowhere have to wait ages for my luggage, thank goodness.
That lady must have been real tired, or she’s weird to begin with
What ticked me off once in Amsterdam was the parking (must have been 2003 when I picked hubby up). Thank goodness it was very early in the morning, but I was circling the airport with two other cars trying to find the right parking lot entrance
.
After that I tried to make an announcement for hubby where to find me, but that, so the lady said, was only possible for people coming from the plane and looking for someone. Well, I found hubby after a while in the nearest bar, having a beer
Nicoles last blog post..You got mail
I can understand that people get nervous when everyone is gone and you don’t see your luggage or worrying about the dogs.
But just like you, I’ve never had to wait ages for my luggage, maybe 10 minutes max!
Yes, if you’ve never been to Amsterdam it can be a real maze! But if you’ve been there more
than one time you know how to find everything!
The lady was a wacko! Believe me: She was a kind of person who looks down to you as if you’re nothing compared to here and she was talking and acting very spoiled and cocky! A true bitch!!
I love those “ladies”…..
