Really? It has done the job for me in the past for a couple of times..That’s why I wanted to share this tip.

It’s something which you can try before formating the hard drive. In the past this has helped me out a couple of times but you’re right.. If this doesn’t help formating the hard drive is the only option.

To be honest I’ve never used low level format, only the “normal” format…

Good advice BioTeck.

But if this doesn’t fix anything then you might consider to format the hard drive.

Also hard drives with many errors might recover (not the data) with a low level format which is very useful.
