If you’re using FireFox and you want to visit my site, you can actually use a shortcut! A shortcut for BioTecK.net? Jep, just type bioteck in the address bar of FireFox and hit Shift+Enter. You’ll see that FireFox takes you directly to this blog! Cool isn’t it?!

What’s the secret? Well I have made a special deal with FireFox.. No, just kidding! To be honest there’s no secret! It’s just a standard feature in FireFox and it can be used to go directly to a .net, .com or .org domain name.

How to use it? Well, it’s simple. Just type the domain name and hit the shortcuts for the domain name:

  • For a .net domain name: Shift+Enter
  • For a .com domain name: Ctrl+Enter
  • For a .org domain name: Ctrl+Shift+enter

Hehe.. So I guess you’re busy with having a nice time in Hungary. ;) This feature is also available in FireFox 2 if I’m not mistaken! :)

One is never too old to learn. I have just tested this in Flock, it works there as well. This is however to be expected as they are both Mozilla browsers.

It goes a bit further than this. I have a site with a .za.net address. If I type in sitename.za and then Shift+Enter I get taken to the correct place - cool.

Thanks for the tip.

Jep, you’re never too old to learn new stuff! ;)

2 Sailor:
Didn’t knew that it worked in Flock too.
I also didn’t knew that the combination of Shift+Enter worked for .za domain names.
