Some time ago I wrote that I was going to see some musicals in the “summer”. Well, summer?! The past weeks it looked a lot like winter time; cold, grey and with a lot of rain! Luckily it didn’t snow!
Anyway, Sunday when we left our house to see Les Miserables musical in Rotterdam. The weather wasn’t any better; again it was cold, grey and it was raining.
(See the picture below!)

Jannie in the rain…
Because the musical is playing in the “Nieuwe Luxor Theather” in Rotterdam we had to get there first, so after sitting in the Bus, train and the metro and almost 2 hours later we arrived at the theater.

Nieuwe Luxor Theater in Rotterdam
After waiting for about 30 minutes at the bar the show started. This show was pretty special, cause some of the actors had switched there role’s and that was a good thing for Jannie. Because now she liked the main character better.
Before the show started I had to read the story, cause the store is a bit complicated. So when the show started I knew the story.
Anyway the show was really good! Everything about the show was just great! The sound, the acting, the music, everything!
When I went to the show I didn’t knew what to expect and by the end of the show I knew one thing for sure: I have to see this musical again! ![]()
So we’re planning to go back and see the show again in a couple of months. In the meantime I’ll just listen to the cd!
PS: The same Sunday it was Red Bull Air Race in Rotterdam also. Unfortunately we couldn’t see the race because we were watching the musical but at the time that the musical was finished I could make some pictures…

Some cool airplanes

So Sunday it was a very long day for us but we did enjoy it very much. As you can see on the photo’s here above the weather changed a bit. We might have the chance to see the sun before the summer ends! ![]()

Les Miserables is such a wonderful musical. I saw it many years ago with my mother in New York City! Then when my daughter became a senior in high school, the school (which is known for it’s fantastic musical productions) did Les Miserables…they were amazing! I would love to see it again!

Les Miserables is very high on my list of great musicals. I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve seen it.

I hadn’t seen it ever before, so I really didn’t knew what to expect but just you said: “It was amazing!” Anna.
I didn’t knew that you enjoyed musicals Sailor. Maybe we have added a new part in the Four Things Meme: “Your four favorite musicals!”
I heard about Les Miserables and a lot of people are giving positive critics about it. You are lucky you watched it live ;0

BT, I bet the musical was awesome! That is one I have wanted to see but never made it to a city that it was playing at. Maybe one day.
Also too bad the air races were on at the same time. I have watched these on TV and they seem pretty intense and I bet would be cool to watch in person..!!
Have a good day and night!
It is a great show. If I’m not wrong it’s been in theaters for 22 years Hye Munar! So if you got the chance to see it, take the opportunity!
Yes Nairobian we had an exciting day. Like I said to Hye Munar; If you see any chance to see the musical, just do it and you’ll understand the fuss about it!
If I’m not mistaken, Les Miserables plays in New York Tazdog. So if you ever go to NY then you can watch it.
Yep, I really wanted to see that..
Better luck next time!

On 17th August there is also Bavaria City Race in Rotterdam which I would love to see, but then I’m in Egypt!
Thnx, this weekend we’re going to another musical, I’ll write about it later!
Have a nice weekend too!
Out of curiosity I looked up when Les Miserables opened on Broadway and it was February 1987. Unfortunately, it closed May of 2003 after 6,680 performances! It’s the second longest running play on Broadway.
So, if you haven’t seen it, you’ll have to look around your local area to find out if any theater company is performing it.

Thnx for the exact info Anna. It’s too bad that they have decided to close the show!
I love Les Miserables - we played it in a Club I worked at in Fuerteventura for a while - lovely! Sad though…
Love the two shots at the end.

It’s a sad story indeed Nicole. I didn’t knew that you had played in Les Miserables or that you could sing!
Which roll did you had?
Thnx for the compliments on the pictures!
I neither can act, nor sing

I was working in a Robinson Club and you just had to partake in those things.
I absolutely loved Elisabeth
Aaa, I see.. I though you could act and sing if I figured that you might need a manager Nicole Nicole!
