The first season of a new show in Holland called “Het Moment van de Waarheid” (which means: The moment of The Truth) has ended. The show is about people telling the truth for money, a lot of money.

How it works? Before entering the show the candidate has to answer 50 questions while he’s attached to a lie detector, 21 of those question are good enough for the show, and remember… They have to tell the TRUTH for money! If they proceed and answer every question with the truth they can win € 100.000. However they can stop at some checkpoints.

So you see, there’s a lot of money involved. In the past weeks Jannie and me followed this a couple of times. This is really interesting cause the question are really personal. Questions like: “Do you give your own kids bigger and more expensive gifts then to your stepdaughter?”, and more personal questions like “Would you leave your husband if it turns out that he is infertile?”, questions about your husband/wife, what you actually think of him/her etc.

Every time we see the show, we’re stunned about the right answers which people say. It’s really strange what people want to reveal for money, things which can hurt people in your family, things which can break your family apart, things which people never will forgive you for telling it.

It looks like people are willing to say/do anything for money. It’s crazy but it’s true, take “Fear Factor” for example where you have to eat disgusting things for money and “The moment of True” where you have to tell the truth and nothing but the truth..even when it can harm other people…

So the question will be: How far would you go for Money? Personally I wouldn’t do anything like this, I mean ok..It’s a lot of money and I can think about 100 reasons what and how to spend the money but is it worth it? I guess not..

I am not sure how much I would reveal. 100,000 Euros, that converts to almost a million in SA currency. I guess I will have a lot to say, that is a lot of money.

How much is there you can reveal uh..??
Are there really questions (and your answers) who can hurt those (close to you) people……

The people who entered this show; probably thought there would not be such a question….
So; this shows reveals a lot of “secrets” people have (without knowing it them selves).

Nope; I would not enter the show…. I don’t like the showmaster…. ;)

Hi,

I’m glad to hear that you wouldn’t do this.

It’s too bad anyone thought up such a show to tempt others. They are doing it for ratings for advertising dollars or euros. It’s not a good thing at all. It lowers everyone concerned.

It isn’t just a matter of having things to hide. It also isn’t just a matter of all the good one could do with the money. It’s a matter of encouraging such crassness.

Blessing to all,

Tom Usher

Hey there. My wife caught some of the episode in the States. I believe it was called “Moment of Truth” or something like that. Some of the questions they ask simply break up families as they confess to infidelity or gambling losses in the 100s of thousands. Crazy stuff.

I agree with metallman. I also think this is probably the worst idea for a tv game show ever.

Well Sjeltur, I don’t know.. But there is always something what can hurt other people simply because you might think differentlty about a subject! ;)

I don’t the showmaster also, but the reactions of the people who are in the show are “funny”. :D

Thanks for your comment Tom Usher! I totally agree with you. These days people do ANYTHING for money.. :???:

Nope, me neither Nicole.

Your right Metallman, it’s called “Moment of Truth”. Crazy stuff indeed…

Hi Tazdog, nice to see you back! It is the worst idea for a tv game and in the mean time I haven’t seen anybody win any money!
