Good tip. I will use it to check my own site before I worry that others can’t see it. Sometimes back-end admin. stuff just blocks admin. access but not all traffic to the site.

Now this is handy and nice to know. I checked out the code on this site. They are using a small Javascript script to do exactly what you suggested in your older article. They appear to be 'pinging' the site entered to see if it replies. Pretty nifty actually. Lyndi´s last blog post..Showing your number of Twitter followers
