ImgBurn is a free and small applications which really should be installed on your pc. With ImgBurn you can burn CD’s, DVD’s images really easy and quickly. But there’s more!
When you start ImgBurn, you’ll see a screen where you can choose from several “Modes”.
- Write image to Disk – This option enables you to burn images files like: *.bin, *.cue, *.di, *.dvd, *.gi, *.img, *.iso, *.mds, *.nrg & *.pdi
- Write files/folders to Disk – With this option you can burn audio cd’s (ImgBurn supports any file type supported via DirectShow/ACM including *.aac, *.ape, *.flac, *.m4a, *.MP3, *.MP4, *.mpc, *.ogg, *.pcm, *.wav, *.wma and *.wv) but you can also burn DVD’s (from a VIDEO_TS folder), HD DVD (from a HVDVD_TS folder) and Blu-ray (from a BDAV / BDMV folder)
- Create image file from disk – This option enables you to create an image file from any CD/DVD/Blue-Ray or HD DVD.
- Create image file from files/folder – With this option you can create an image file from any file/folder located on your computer.
- Verify – Check a disc is 100% readable. Optionally, you can also have ImgBurn compare it against a given image file to ensure the actual data is correct
- Discovery – Put your drive / media to the test! Used in combination with DVDInfoPro, you can check the quality of the burns your drive is producing

ImgBurn supports Unicode folder/file names, so you shouldn’t run in to any problems if you’re using an international character set. It also supports all the latest drives without the need for updates (including booktype / bitsetting / advanced settings on many of the major ones – i.e. BenQ, LiteOn, LG, NEC, Plextor, Samsung, Sony).
So you see, there’s no need to buy any expensive burning software. ImgBurn will do everything for you for free!

Burning a bootable ISO file with ImgBurn is really easy, just use the Write image file to disc option Nihar.

For years I have been using Nero and have liked it quite well. As I get older, I seem to be penny pinching a bit and look for free software to save money.
I will have to check this out and see how it runs on Vista 64.

Nice! I can see that ImgBurn is really a great tool. I’ve been looking for this kind of tool for a long time now to replace the one I’m currently using. I love taking pictures and then burn them afterwards. I have the best computer accessories with me but I don’t have a dependable software for it. That’s why I’m looking for a real efficient image burner. Thanks for your post! It helps a lot

I was using Roxio but is a heavy program and slow to upload.I’ll give a try to this one. Thanks for the suggestion.
I’ve used Roxio in the past too, just to give it a try, but didn’t like it back then Home Accents. Anyway, ImgBurner is much better!
