Have you ever wondered how many duplicate files you can find on your PC? For example; having 1 mp3 file in 2 or even 3 different folders? Or what about the documents, presentations, pictures etc which you’ve saved on your PC? You’d be surprised just how many duplicate files you could find in some folder which you even didn’t knew it existed!
So if you decide to clean up your PC you don’t want to go and search through ever folder for duplicate files?! Nope, I don’t think so!
Duplicate Cleaner is the perfect tool for this! After installation you need to say which file type you want to search for duplicated and which folders and press the GO button! I just tried this on my MP3 folder and it “only” found 34 duplicate mp3′s out of 21GB’s of mp3 files. By deleting those I gained 165mb, but imagine doing this with video’s, pictures etc and gaining back a lot of space?

Duplicate Cleaner is really easy to use however you need to know what you’re doing because of the potential damage from mistakenly removing needed files!

Hello bioteck
Here is another tool to try: Directory Report
http://www.file-utilities.com
It is very fast in finding dups in large drives
It can create reports in many file formats too
I think it is important to be able to find duplicate files as you won’t want to have more than one so you can have space for other things. I know I have trouble with space with my files that are not duplicates.
Thanks for sharing it. I always manual check my files when ever I want to delete some of my duplicate files but now thanks to this.
Actually. This is a handy tool. I was just thinking: “James you kind of have lots of music on your pc located on different hard drives and many songs can be found more than just in one place”. So here is a solution to my problem.
Thanks Binaryman. I’ll give it a try!
Yep, that’s a problem which everyone has.. I mean with the harddisks getting bigger everyday, the chance of duplicate files will grow as well Michelle.
That’s one way to do it Web Design Chicago but that will take you some time!
LOL! I’m happy that I could help you out James Collins!!
Being another web designer in Chicago… I can say that I usually just trash and start again…
I’l give it a try though
Hi, I had the opportunity to use the and I found the software to be good. Priced around $25 dollars I found this to be a good value for money. It is fast and accurate and I could clean up nearly 500 GB of disk space from my four disks which is considerable.
