So yesterday we had planned a day trip to Den Haag & Scheveningen because we had tickets for the musical Mary Poppins.
At first we went to Den Haag as we wanted to visit some shops and had a delicious lunch at a Dim Sum restaurant.
After our lunch we went to Scheveningen. As the weather in Scheveningen was bad we decided to go to the cinema and watched “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice“. When the movie ended we went to the passage for a little while and walked at the boulevard waiting for the musical to start. Although the musical wasn’t that fun, we still had a great day!

When we finally got back home it was late and we noticed some loud noises in our garden; As I went to take a look there was this drunk guy walking on the roof of our barn screaming “I’m going to jump off and break my neck, leave me alone!” He was obviously too drunk and angry with some of this friends who walked in the alley behind our garden. It was a good laugh when I told him to get off the roof and he told me “Ok, but where do I have to sleep?!” ![]()
Kids & drunk is a bad combination! Anyway, he finally jumped off the roof, which was about 2 meters high, and that’s when the peace came back in the neighborhood.
Again, we had made some pictures which now can be found in the gallery. Enjoy watching them!

Is Scheveningen still such a mess due to the new boulevard they’re making?
Do you remember tghe name of the restaurant. We’re thinking of heading that way too and knowing where to eat well helps.
Thanks!
Hi Laane…
Sorry but can’t remember the name of that restaurant…
It was located in the China Town (Den Haag)… :s
As for Scheveningen… I didn’t saw any construction etc. All I saw was that the boulevard was closed from a certain point…
In case you like Suhi’s; then you should try SUMO restaurant.
If not then you should try one of the restaurants at the boulevards… I bet they’re delicious!
was the mary poppins in english or dutch? we missed it in the uk and thinking of taking our kids – any help would be great
