Threaded Comments on BioTecK.net

Posted By: Thursday 24 February 2011 6 Comments

Since the release of WordPress 2.7 people can enjoy the threaded comments. With this feature you can easily connect and interact with your readers without losing track of who’s saying what to whom. Like everything else with WordPress, you’re in control of the conversation by setting the number of levels allowed in your comment threads. You can set it from 1 to 10. Ten levels deep means nine replies under each comment.

This is a feature which I didn’t liked from the start so I didn’t mind to use an theme which didn’t support this feature. Now a couple of releases later I changed my mind as I really wanted to have threaded comments on BioTecK.net. A Google searched pointed me toward the right solution and after some styling and tweaking here it is: Threaded comments on BioTecK.net! =)

Over the few next weeks I’ll start and tweak the site even further, so make sure you come back!

I am actually confused with the Wp threaded comment as it only appears in the admin panel. Therefore, I had to use a separate plugin to show the threaded comments in my blog. Any idea?

Hmmm….. It sounds like your theme doesn’t allow threaded comments in the first place… That’s probably why you had to use a plugin for it.
Also this was the case for me before the changes in the comments.php file.

What I would do is to see if your theme is “threaded comments” ready and see if someone who uses the same theme has made an alternate comments.php file.
