I stumbled across TimeTicker which displays the exact time of the world in the different time zones. It’s great when you want to call someone who doesn’t live in the same country as you do. This way you’re sure that you don’t wake anybody up!

Anyway It works really simple. Click anywhere on the world map and TimeTicker will display the current time on that time zone OR you can use the right table below the world map where you can find a complete list of countries which you can select and view the current time of the selected country.

PS: Make sure to click on “Mute Ticking” before you get crazy from the ticking sound!

EDIT: Danny came up with anoter good resource for world time. The Free World Clock.com enables you to save your cities and come back to them at any time.

We all know that XP has a build-in Add/Remove program. The thing about the standard Add/Remove program in XP is that when using it to uninstall applications it leaves broken registry keys and unused files behind on your had disk. Those big registries and large numbers of unnecessary files makes your system slow.

So stop using the standard add/remove program in XP and start using Revo Uninstaller. Revo Uninstaller is a replacement to the standard add/remove program in XP and it also includes some other useful tools to keep your system clean and fast!

Finally it was Friday the 30th. The day which I would see Metallica live on stage on PinkPop.
Let’s be honest, I really didn’t care about the other bands which were going to play on PinkPop. The ONE and ONLY reason why I wanted to go to Pinkpop was the fact that Metallica was going to play there.

So Friday Jannie and me left our house about 15 o’clock from Eindhoven to Landgraaf which luckily isn’t that far. It only takes 1.30 hours to get there with the train.
After being searched by a security guard & showing the tickets we could finally enter!

The first thing we actually did was getting food & drink tickets and after that we started to explore the festival terrain and got us something to drink.

As we walked further we saw this young boy wasted as hell and sleeping on the ground. In the beginning everybody passed by him but after some minutes everybody began to give him some money and take pictures of him, biggest attraction of Pinpop beside Metallica!

Anyway, we saw Incubus playing live but we didn’t care. We where only there for Metallica and I think 90% of all people who where there yesterday too.. So after waiting several hours Metallica showed up on the stage! :D

I liked this very much off course, they started with “Creeping death” and from there on nothing could go wrong for me! So the first couple of songs were from there first albums such as “Ride The Lighting” and “Master of Puppets”. Later on it went to some “newer” stuff, off course songs from “The Black Album” and I was really glad to hear “Bleeding Me” from the album “Load” and “Devil’s Dance” & “The Memory Still Remains” from the album “Reload”. I know most people won’t say the same thing but I really love those two albums.

Anyway, the atmosphere were just GREAT! Everybody was just happy and enjoying the music. It was very funny when I looked at this girl with her boy friend who were standing just next to us, they acted as if they got an orgasm on some songs. So that was weird. Beside that we saw a dude passing out (probably too much weed/hash or too much alcohol) but other than that nothing bad happened!
About the sound and the lightings: Nothing wrong with that! We could clearly hear and see Metallica so it was awesome!
When they started to play “One” they even started with some cool fireworks so it was really amazing!!

It was about 22:00 when Jannie and me decided to leave Pinkpop and head back home. Cause we weren’t that sure if we could get home with the train and beside that.. it’s better to leave early than leave with all of those people who want to get home at the same time!

Conclusion:
I’ve had a WONDERFUL day! Seeing Metallica was actually one of the things on my wish list. I enjoyed the music and I actually want to see them perform again when they come back to The Netherlands. Btw: You can view more pictures of Pinkpop 2008 here…

I have to say: thnx Jannie. Cause actually she hates Metallica and Pinkpop even more, but then again she loves me so much that she even went there with me!

Some weeks ago I had some time to clean up the back garden. It really needed some attention, but as I had to work I didn’t had the chance or time to do our front garden cause like the back garden it looked liked a big forest. Beside that we wanted to re-decorate our front garden. This is what we wanted to do for a long time, from the very start when we got the house actually, but first we wanted to spend our time (and money) on decorating the house rather than the garden. So we’ve had a lot of time to brainstorm about how we would redecorate the garden.

So Monday we went to a do-it-your-self store with my mom to buy the stuff we needed, but as we had some other things to do that day we decided to start on Tuesday. So Yesterday me and my mother in law started to re-decorate the front garden. Before we started I made a picture to give you an idea how it looked before the re-decorating, so here you go:

Anyway, we started to work at the garden and a few hours later, 6 to be exactly, it looked exactly like we had in mind:

Damn, It’s good to have enough time to do everything you want to do!

Something which I didn’t like about my sidebar was that it was a bit cluttered! I didn’t like this and after some time I’ve found the right answer!
The answer to my “problem” is Tabber. Tabber converts your HTML into a dynamic tabbed interface using plug-and-play JavaScript and it’s really easy to use!
A recommendation to everyone with a cluttered sidebar, or for any other usage off course!!
So what do you think about my sidebar now it’s all cleaned up?

Yeah. Yesterday was the last day of my internship. After spending 16 weeks working from 9 till 17:30 it’s time for a well earned vacation!

The one and only thing I still have to do is, give a presentation at school about my internship period and most importantly about my master exam. After that I have to wait till my graduation.

So how was my internship?
Well, it wasn’t that bad. I mean it was near our house and it took me only 15 minutes on my bike to get there. So I didn’t had to wake up very early.
The working climate was relax and good. As a trainee I got a lot of responsibilities and there was no-one how kept an eye on me, so that was great cause I love to do things on my own. The very first day that I started I got a project list which I could do beside my master exam project.
The projects were mainly web related, which I didn’t mind to do, and off course some non print projects like designing some advertisement. So you can expect a big portfolio update in the next weeks!

I don’t know how it is in other countries but in Holland internship is like modern slavery! Why? Let me explain: you have to work as hard, actually harder then the normal employees, so in my case I had to work about 40 hours a week and I got paid a bit, the forth of a normal employee! Arguing about it doesn’t help cause, like my school says: You have to be happy when an internship company wants to pay you, so with this mentality you don’t have a lot of choice! Cause none of the internship companies will pay that much for you as a trainee.
So in my opinion: internship is like modern slavery, but it can be a great learning experience!
What do you think about internship!?

Update:
I totally forgot to mention the letter of recommendation which my boss gave me yesterday. It’s so great that there’s not even a single negative word in it!! :D
So I’m going to use it while I’m job interviewing! :D

Yes, it’s possible to create an invisible folder on your computer and as you can’t see the folder, if you don’t know where it is, you can’t access it!
Some people might know this, and some people don’t, anyway a great tip if you want to hide some files from your boss or your girlfriend.

Making an invisible folder is very easy:

1. Right click any where you want the invisible folder to be, go to New, then click on Folder.

2. Now you have to give the folder the following name: (make sure your numlock is on) hold Alt and press 0160 or ALT and press 255. Now release ALT. This should make a character that looks like a space, but it isn’t.

3. Now right click the folder you just made and go to properties. Then go to the Customize tab -> Change Icon button. Scroll through the icons until you find one that has no image. See the image below:

Invisible Folder

4. Hit OK twice and you have an invisible folder!

Now you can put anything you want in the folder.
If you can’t find it, just select the entire folder/desktop and there will be a little blue rectangle below the invisible folder.
You can also access the folder by entering the path of the invisible folder in the address bar!

NOTE: If you put it on your desktop it might show the folder for a second or two upon start up. For this reason I recommend putting it inside another folder.
