Today I could pick my computer up from the repair store. They had changed the motherboard and everything seemed to work. So I went to Computerland and after paying a bill of 100 euro’s I could take my computer and my old motherboard with me. Right now I’m formating my harddisk and re-installing Windows XP. No, no Vista for me YET! I’ll stick to XP a bit longer and I’ll see when I switch to Vista. Do you want to sell your old computer along with your old hard disk but you don’t want that anyone could recover any files on your old hard disk? Simple File Shredder is an application that securely deletes your files so they can never be recovered.

When you delete a file using the conventional Window delete method, the file is not actually destroyed. Windows simply acknowledges the file is no longer needed and considers it free space. Just a couple of minutes ago I discovered a great little site, GiveawayOfTheDay.com. This website lets you download a full version, fully activated game and/or program from their site, free of charge! Today I received a call from Computerland… They figured out what was wrong with my computer, and I was right!! The mainboard of my computer was broken. He hadn’t any answer to why the mainboard was broken after 15 months… But I hope that this won’t happen again within 15 months! So anyway, he had called me to tell me that he had found the problem and need my approval to fix the computer… So I’ve given my approval to fix the computer by replacing the broken mainboard with a brand new one and when the computer is ready… Continue reading here »»

Today I finally found some time to bring my computer to the shop and let them fix the computer! I still don’t know how much it’ll cost me, but at Computerland they told me that it’s going to take 7 or 8 days to get the computer fixed! So that’s actually pretty fast! Till some years ago, I would fix the computer myself, but not this days any more… I don’t feel fixing the computer anymore, It will only cost me a lot of time and a lot of frustration! Yesterday I was able to create a back-up of every file and folder on the hard disk of my dead computer. I just took the hard disk to a friends house and burned the data which I needed! I know a lot about computers and I can fix and replace small things in the computer such as a videocard, burner, RAM etc. but I’ve never changed or replaced a main board and/or the CPU… So now I’m done backing up the stuff, I’m going to bring the computer to the computer shop!
